OKLAHOMA CITY – An Oklahoma death row inmate who was seconds away from being executed now has some state lawmakers coming to his side. They are expected to hold a news conference Wednesday.
State representative Kevin McDugle and 34 other state lawmakers are asking the Pardon and Parole board as well as Governor Kevin Stitt for an independent investigation into Richard Glossip’s case.
They said there is a possibility Glossip is innocent in the murder that put him on death row.
“I think what the legislators are asking for is some assurance, they know that there was a poor investigation conducted here,” Don Knight, Glossip’s attorney, said.
